Day 28 — A Life That Makes Room for Him

“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you”
—Joshua 3:5

Summary

As this Advent journey comes to a close, we realize something important:
making room for Jesus was never meant to end here.

Over these past days, you’ve slowed your heart, opened your life, and intentionally prepared Him room. You’ve welcomed His presence, reflected on His love, and allowed Him to dwell more deeply within you. But Advent is not the destination — it is the threshold.

Now, God invites you to look ahead.

The same Jesus you have welcomed is preparing you for what comes next.

Insight for Today — From Making Room to Being Set Apart

Advent teaches us how to receive Christ.
Consecration teaches us how to respond to Him.

To consecrate simply means to be set apart — to intentionally align your heart, habits, focus, and direction with God. It is not about striving harder, but about surrendering deeper. Not about earning a calling, but about being prepared to walk in it.

As you step toward a new year, God is not asking you to rush ahead. He is inviting you to rise with intention — to lean in, to listen closely, and to allow Him to refine and renew you for what He desires to do through your life.

This is a moment of holy transition.
A pause between what has been and what is coming.

Going Deeper — Preparing for the New Thing God Wants to Do

Throughout Scripture, God often called His people to consecrate themselves before He moved in powerful ways. Preparation came before promise fulfilled. Surrender came before breakthrough.

You’ve taken time to make room.
Now God is inviting you to go further.

There is a calling within you — a purpose, a destiny, a divine assignment placed there by God. But callings do not flourish by accident. They grow when we give God space to shape us, cleanse us, and align us with His will.

As this year closes, the invitation is clear:
Do not carry delay into the new year.
Do not step forward unchanged.
Step forward set apart.

Pointing to Jesus

Jesus Himself lived a consecrated life — fully surrendered to the Father, attentive to His voice, and obedient to His leading. Because of that surrender, the world was changed.

When we prepare Him room, our lives become places where God can move freely — revealing, refining, and releasing us into what He has prepared ahead.

The same Jesus who came humbly at Christmas now calls us forward with purpose.

Reflection/Prayer

Jesus, thank You for walking with me through this Advent season. Thank You for meeting me as I made room for You. As I look toward the days ahead, I offer my life to You again. Prepare my heart, refine my focus, and align me with what You desire to do in and through me. I am willing. I am listening. Lead me forward. Amen.

Application Question

As you look toward the new year, what might God be inviting you to consecrate — your time, your habits, your focus, or your heart — in preparation for what He wants to do next?

Continuing the Journey

Thank you for walking through this Prepare Him Room Advent journey. It has been a sacred season of slowing down, making space, and welcoming the presence of Jesus more deeply into our hearts and lives.

As Advent comes to a close, God is inviting us not to stop — but to step forward.

On January 1, we will begin a new journey together:
31 Days of Consecration & Renewal — a time to intentionally set ourselves apart, align our hearts with God, and prepare for the new things He desires to do in and through us.

Scripture reminds us:

“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
— Joshua 3:5

If you sense God stirring something within you — a calling, a purpose, a renewed direction — I invite you to continue this journey with me. Advent prepared the room. Consecration prepares the way.
