Day 26 — Love That Grows
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” — Luke 2:52
Summary
Christmas has passed, but the story is not over.
Jesus did not remain in the manger. He grew.
Advent reminds us that God’s greatest work often unfolds quietly over time. The promise had arrived, yet it would take years for its fullness to be revealed. Love entered the world as a child and then grew, day by day, moment by moment.
Preparing Him room is not only about welcoming Jesus — it is about making space for Him to grow in us.
Insight for Today — God Works Through Process
We often expect immediate transformation. But Scripture shows us a different rhythm — one of growth, formation, and maturity.
Jesus grew physically, spiritually, relationally, and in wisdom. If the Son of God embraced growth and process, we should not be discouraged when God’s work in us takes time.
Love that grows:
requires patience,
deepens through obedience,
strengthens through daily surrender,
and matures through relationship.
Preparing Him room means allowing God access not just to our beginnings, but to our becoming.
Going Deeper — Making Room for Growth
Growth requires space.
Just as Jesus needed years to mature into His calling, God invites us to walk with Him daily — learning, listening, and trusting Him step by step.
Love grows when we:
return to Him consistently,
remain open to correction,
stay rooted in His Word,
and allow Him into ordinary moments.
God is not rushed. He is intentional.
The same love that entered the world in humility continues to grow quietly in hearts that remain open and surrendered.
Pointing to Jesus
Jesus understands every stage of growth because He lived it. He knows what it means to learn, to wait, to mature, and to walk faithfully in obscurity.
He is patient with our process.
He is gentle with our growth.
He is committed to completing what He has begun.
When we prepare Him room, He does not overwhelm us — He walks with us.
Reflection/Prayer
Jesus, thank You that You are patient with my growth. Help me make room for You not only in moments of celebration, but in everyday life. Continue Your work in me, shaping my heart and teaching me to walk with You faithfully, one day at a time. Amen.
Application Question
Where might God be inviting you to embrace growth instead of rushing the process? What would it look like to prepare Him room in that area?
