Day 24 — Love That Knocks and Waits

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in…”Revelation 3:20

Summary

On this final day before Christmas, Advent invites us to listen closely.
Jesus does not force His way into our lives. He comes gently — waiting, knocking, and inviting us to open the door.

Preparing Him room is not something we do once. It is a daily choice to respond to His quiet, faithful presence.

Love does not rush.
Love does not demand.
Love waits.

Insight for Today — The Gentle Invitation of Love

Jesus stands at the door and knocks — not loudly, not aggressively, but patiently. He waits for our response.

The knock of Christ often sounds like:
a gentle nudge to pause,
a quiet conviction,
a moment of stillness,
a reminder of His nearness,
or an invitation to surrender control.

In the busyness of the season, it is easy to miss His knock. Advent slows us down so we can hear His voice and recognize His presence.

Preparing Him room means opening the door intentionally — choosing relationship over routine, presence over performance, and surrender over resistance.

Going Deeper — Opening the Door

Opening the door to Jesus is not about striving harder or becoming more spiritual. It is about making space for Him to enter every part of our lives — our thoughts, our decisions, our emotions, and our relationships.

Jesus promises that when we open the door, He will come in and dwell with us. He desires closeness, not distance. Communion, not control.

Love stands at the door, waiting to be welcomed.

Pointing to Jesus

Jesus is the fulfillment of every Advent longing. He came once in humility, He comes daily through relationship, and He will come again in glory.

The same Savior born in a manger now stands at the door of our hearts — still gentle, still patient, still full of love.

Every time we open the door, we prepare Him room again.

Reflection/Prayer

Jesus, help me hear Your voice today. I open the door of my heart to You once again. Come in, dwell with me, and make Yourself at home in every area of my life. I choose to prepare room for You, not just today, but always. Amen.

Application Question

What door in your life might Jesus be gently knocking on today? What would it look like to open it fully to Him?
