Day 22 - Love Came Down
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son…” — John 3:16
Summary
At the heart of Advent is this sacred invitation: prepare Him room.
Before Jesus ever entered a manger, love had already made the decision to come. God did not wait for a perfect place, a prepared people, or ideal circumstances. Love came down anyway.
Advent reminds us that Jesus still comes the same way today — not because everything is ready, but because love is willing to enter whatever space we offer Him.
Insight for Today — Love Makes the First Move
Jesus did not come because the world was ready. He came because God is love. Love moved first. Love crossed the distance between heaven and earth. Love wrapped itself in flesh and stepped into human limitation.
Mary didn’t have everything figured out — but she made room with her surrender.
Joseph didn’t understand the full plan — but he made room through obedience.
There was no room in the inn — yet heaven still came near.
Advent teaches us that preparing Him room does not mean preparing perfection. It means opening our hearts, our schedules, our expectations, and our inner lives to receive Him as He comes — humbly, gently, and faithfully.
Going Deeper — Making Room for Love
The Christmas story is filled with movement — God moving toward humanity, light entering darkness, grace stepping into brokenness. Love did not remain distant. Love drew near.
Jesus came close to the weary, the overlooked, the sinner, the broken, and the forgotten. He entered ordinary places and complicated lives. This is the nature of divine love — it does not demand a polished space; it transforms the space it enters.
To prepare Him room is to say, “Jesus, You are welcome here — in my mess, in my questions, in my longing, in my waiting.”
Advent love doesn’t rush us.
Advent love invites us.
Pointing to Jesus
Jesus is the visible expression of God’s love. Love took on skin. Love learned to walk. Love lay in a manger. Love stayed.
Every miracle, every teaching, every act of compassion flowed from love that had already chosen us. His birth was the beginning of a life poured out completely.
When we prepare Him room, we are not making space for an idea — we are welcoming a Person who loves us deeply and personally.
Reflection/Prayer
Jesus, thank You for coming near in love. As I walk through this Advent season, help me prepare room for You — not just in celebration, but in surrender. Make Yourself at home in my heart, my thoughts, and my daily life. I open every part of me to receive You again. Amen.
